Still a little bit away, we wanted to give families a heads up that the Scarborough Soccer Club Appreciation Weekend at Dick’s Sporting Goods is scheduled for Sat., Aug 4 and Sun., Aug 5 at their South Portland location. 20% OFF throughout the store!
Save the date for your soccer cleats, ball, camping tent, or even shakeweight purchase. Anything you want! Print their flyer, and take the coupon in-store, early August.
For all returning coaches, and those who have shared their interest with Director of Coaching, Susan Johnson, the board has scheduled a mandatory Coaches Meeting, Tues., 6/26, 7 PM – 9 PM @ Scarborough Town Hall, Chamber B.
If you have committed to coaching the Fall 2018 travel season, please make all efforts to attend. Reminders will be sent by email, and posted on our Facebook page. Thanks!
Keeping player fees low is important to the club. One of the ways families can help that mission along is by purchasing a new sideline chair this spring! Check out our info sheet, purchase via Paypal link below, or head to the team store page.
Chairs will be available for pick-up or purchase during player evaluations at Gorham Sports Center. There may or may not have been a promise by board member Drew Serbin to make home deliveries as well. Don’t let that dissuade you!

Additional reminder that Tues., 3/27 @ 7 PM is our annual Parent Information Night, to be held at the Wentworth School cafeteria. If your player will be new to the club, or you’re a returning family with questions, please attend.

There isn’t much down time for the club and the beginning of the year is no exception. The annual club board meeting was held at the beginning of February where a new board of directors was elected and general club news discussed. The Board said thank you and goodbye to President Rob Dupuy (6 year board member) and Communications Director Tina Pettingill (4 year board member). To see a full list of newly elected board officers and members, click here.
The club also discussed the Pine Tree League- Soccer Maine’s spring league. Registration is due to Soccer Maine on March 15, so deadlines were set for the club, fees will remain the same as last year and registration tentatively scheduled for February 20-March 13th. Fall coaches can volunteer to coach for the 6-week league and players who were registered for the fall 2017 season will be eligible to play (wearing uniforms from last season).
Lastly, tryouts and evaluations for the 2018 fall season will be held, as in the past, during the first few weeks of May. Those dates will be solidified over the next few weeks as we secure indoor field space. Keep checking out this site and our facebook page for information to come.
2017 fall soccer registration has closed. We are accepting players on a wait list until Friday, May 5th at midnight. No registrations will be accepted after that point. To place your player on the wait list, go to the registration site and go through the full registration process (including payment and birth certificate upload). Your credit card payment will be put on hold but not charged until your player is rostered on a team.
Registering for the wait list does not guarantee a spot on a team, but we will do our best to accommodate all wait list players.
Players on the wait list are required to attend tryouts/evaluations so we can determine the best team placement.
Hope to see you at tryouts/evaluations and out on the field!
